I pick up my camera to find the beauty in the simplest moments

Hey there, I’m Sam!

Photography has been a big part of my life ever since my dad surprised me with my first camera after college. What started as a simple gift turned into a passion for capturing the real, everyday moments that make life so special.


Along the way, I’ve traveled to different corners of the world—over five countries and more than 20 states across the US—always looking for new stories to tell through my camera. Every trip, every sunset, every smile added something new to the way I see and capture life.


That’s what inspired me to start My Family Portraits. I wanted to create a space where families could freeze their favorite moments—laughs, hugs, happy chaos—and turn them into memories they’ll always cherish. I focus on natural, timeless portraits that feel real, using the soft, golden light of sunset whenever I can.


When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me outdoors—paddleboarding, playing pickleball, or just exploring somewhere new.

At My Family Portraits, it’s all about keeping it real, keeping it joyful, and capturing your story in a way that lasts forever.

Born and raised in India, I have lived in the Philippines and UK before settling in the US, shaping my deep appreciation for diverse cultures and human connections.

Photography has always been a passion of mine, and capturing portraits of my friends and family as a hobby has made portraiture a natural extension of who I am.

Apart from Photography, I love cooking Indian food and always enjoy sharing it with others - so if you'd like a taste, let me know! Lately, I've also been exploring the art of baking cakes.

We came to Sam at My Family Portraits feeling nervous because we hadn’t had a family photo session in years.
